Erling Braut Haaland (21) could have played his last game in 2021. National team doctor Ola Sand believes that “everything before” the game against Bayern Munich on December 4 will be an advantage.

National team doctor Ola Sand had previously told NTB that Haaland will be out for a minimum of three to four weeks, but that the Borussia Dortmund forward potentially has to stay on the sidelines for a longer period.
– I think it’s an injury that’s been going on for more than four weeks, but it’s too early to say anything exactly, Sand tells VG on Saturday.
Because while three to four weeks is the best possible scenario, it can be eight to 10 weeks in the worst possible scenario, says Sand.
– With muscle injuries, you don’t know exactly how fast it goes. You have to look at the first few weeks and see how quickly it responds, says Sand.
German newspapers Sport1 and image writes on Saturday that the game against Bayern Munich on December 4 is the first Haaland can reach after the injury. After that, there are two weeks left with matches before the Christmas holidays in German soccer.
– It will probably take at least that long, probably. Bayern Munich is quite a realistic target. All of the above is a bonus, says Sand.
Sand is aware that Haaland is in good hands with Dortmund’s medical team.
-I have seen the photos and it is extensive damage, he says.
-He is a typical player who can suffer this type of injury, with his speed and the fact that he shoots a lot, he continues.
“Football doctor” on Haaland’s injury: – Probably more exposed
The hip flexor injury occurred after the Champions League game against Ajax on Tuesday night. Before the game against Bayern Munich on December 4, Dortmund will play seven games, including two in the Champions League. The game against Bayern Munich is followed by four more games, including the final match of the Champions League group stage against Besiktas on 7 December.
Jan Åge Fjørtoft from Viasat was present in Bielefeld on Saturday for Dortmund’s match against Arminia Bielefeld and posted a video update on Twitter.
– It seems that the injury is quite serious. Dortmund says he will be out for several weeks. He will miss several games. He will miss Norway’s two international matches, he will miss the next game against Ajax in Dortmund. The way I see it, and the way I understand it after talking to several people, it may be that Erling Braut Haaland played his last match in 2021, says Fjørtoft in the video.
Should Haaland be out for the rest of the year, he will miss the next twelve games for Dortmund, plus two games for Norway.
Dortmund’s last game of the year is the away game against Hertha Berlin on December 18.
After the New Year, Dortmund will play their first away game against Eintracht Frankfurt on 8 January.
Saturday’s game against Bielefeld ended with a comfortable away win for Dortmund. Scores from Emre Can, Mats Hummels and Jude Bellingham saw Dortmund lead 3-0 with a quarter of an hour to play. Fabian Klos cut back in the final minutes, but Dortmund eventually won 3-1. The victory means they keep up with Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga.
Bayern Munich beat Hoffenheim 4-0 at home, following goals from Serge Gnabry, Robert Lewandowski, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Kingsley Coman. After nine rounds, Bayern have 22 points, while Dortmund are one point behind.
Lewandowski also tops the league’s top scorers list with ten goals, one more goal than Braut Haaland.
