Graham Hansen’s dream goal. Norway connected control at the World Cup venue.

STADION ULLEVAAL (Aftenposten): Norway completely dominated against the main World Cup challenger.

The celebration said it all – the beautiful 2-0 score was extremely delightful for Caroline Graham Hansen.

Norway can no longer expect easy victories against countries like Poland and Belgium. This has been the emphatic message of Caroline Graham Hansen at this meeting of national teams.

But Tuesday night seemed easy. Norway crushed Belgium 3-0 at Ullevaal Stadium.

And it never seemed easier than when Graham Hansen dribbled past the Belgium half and threw the ball into the net, to the shouts of the more than 5,000 people present.

Sandviken players Guro Bergsvand and Elisabeth Terland, as well as Ingrid Syrstad Engen, scored Norway’s other three goals in the victory, bringing Norway one step closer to the World Cup.

Guro Bergsvand and Caroline Graham Hansen celebrate here. They both scored for Norway before the break.

He drove Belgium to madness

The referee had exploded. Angry Justine Vanhaevermaet kicked the ball in anger.

That moment, after just over half an hour, said a lot about what it was like to be Belgium at Ullevaal Stadium on Tuesday night.

Because Norway shone from the start and took over Belgium, which is number 19 in the FIFA rankings. The aerial game of the guests did not breathe. They didn’t have the ball long before Norway took over. And when Norway had the ball, they constantly pushed it into dangerous areas.

And no one bothered the Belgians more than Caroline Graham Hansen. At regular intervals, he just took over the ball and ran towards the frightened Belgians, and the example of the coronation itself was the score 2-0.

When Graham Hansen celebrated the goal by rebounding in the air with a clenched fist, Norway seemed to be on the safe path to victory.

Because then Guro Bergsvand had already sent Norway to the head with a header: the first goal of the stopper in the national team.

The change produced an immediate profit

Norway could also score several goals, both before and after the break.

Belgium, however, stood out a bit beyond the match. They got to have the ball for long periods. And opportunities also came. Belgian forward Tine De Caigny, for example, was unlucky when she headed off the post.

However, Belgium lacked the quality of Norway at crucial moments. National team coach Sjögren had just moved Guro Reiten further up the field when she hit a pinpoint stick to Elisabeth Terland. Terland, 20, scored the goal 3-0 for sure.

The 4-0 goal came just before the end. After brilliant preparation from Karina Sævik, Ingrid Syrstad shot Engen through two Belgian players.

So the victory was actually in the box. And there was no victory.

The three points at Ullevaal Stadium lead Norway to the top of the World Cup qualifying group, three points ahead of Belgium. Only the first place occupies a direct place in the World Cup. There are six games left for Norway, but most are against considerably weaker opponents.
