With a dominant game and four goals, Liverpool could celebrate three points against Arsenal.
But even though Anfield sang for their heroes and created an atmosphere, there was probably a push on the sidelines.
For just over half an hour into the first half, Jürgen Klopp and Mikel Arteta had to be separated by force.
The managers got into a heated argument after a head-to-head duel between an Arsenal and a Liverpool player. Both benches had their full right to keep the two away from fights on the sidelines. It all ended with a yellow card for both.
But despite the sour face along the way, Klopp was able to smile in the end.
That after all four Liverpool goals, and it was the home team that found its way to the net first. On a free kick from Alexander-Arnold, the ball ended up on the forehead of Mané who with a brilliant heading put the ball in the net behind Aaron Ramsdale.
– A fantastic post by Arnold, and a nice heading by Mané, summed up Erik Huseklepp in TV 2’s studio.
Seven minutes into the second half, Liverpool were ahead again. Jota got the ball just outside the penalty area, pulled off an Arsenal defender, before faking out Ramsdale and putting the ball safely into the net.
Then Mohamed Salah made it 3-0, before Takumi Minamino set the score at 4-0.
Thus, Liverpool climbs up to a second place in the table, past Manchester City with one game more played.
