The first skiers hit the slopes of Val Thorens in Savoie and Porté-Puymorens in the Pyrénées-Orientales early Saturday morning, savoring their return after two seasons marred by the Covid-19 epidemic.
The winter sports season is therefore officially launched with a specific protocol implemented this year.
After their closure last winter due to the covid-19 pandemic, the French resorts are betting on this new season which they hope will be promising despite the constraint of the mask in the ski lifts.
Because as provided for in the sanitary protocol, the mask is compulsory in the queues of the ski lifts and in the cable cars.
In total, 9,500 skiers and snowboarders reached the resort of Val Thorens, this Saturday, November 20, for this first day of opening.
