The first two episodes of “Hawkeye,” the fifth Marvel Studios series, will be available November 24 on Disney +. The following four will be offered at the rate of one episode every Wednesday.
Viewers reunite with Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, while in New York City with his children. At six days of Christmas, he wishes to take advantage of them before joining his wife for Christmas Eve. But her path will cross that of Kate Bishop, a young archer of 22 years who finds herself in spite of herself embroiled in a major criminal conspiracy. Faced with this unexpected situation, and haunted by the ghosts of his past, Hawkeye promises to fix the problem before the Christmas festivities. At least, that’s what he hopes.
After WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and What If… ?, Hawkeye joins the ranks of the Marvel Studios series on Disney + with six episodes bursting with energy. Directing by Rhys Thomas and directors Bert & Bertie gives the famous character played by Jeremy Renner and his status as a superhero without superpowers a new dimension. “That simple fact makes him ordinary, not to mention he has a family and changes his children’s diapers as soon as he puts his bow away. However, he is heroic, and I think that redefines the very concept of superheroes, ”explains the actor in a press release.
In the series, the extraordinary archer comes face to face with a young apprentice in the person of Kate Bishop, who has worshiped him since his earliest childhood. A meeting that will change a lot of things for Clint Barton. “In my opinion, he thinks that she has enormous potential,” continues Jeremy Renner. “Well, at first she really pisses him off. But he learns to respect and admire her, and he takes her under his wing. While he couldn’t stand her, he decides to protect her. The series mainly revolves around the meeting of these two characters, ”he continues.
Viewers will discover Hailee Steinfled (True Grit, Pitch Perfect, Bumblebee) as Kate Bishop. A character which required a long work of preparation for the young woman of 24 years. “It’s a very physical role, and I like it. I started training for stunts with my dad, who is my private coach. (…) I took some archery lessons with an amazing instructor in Los Angeles. I was first introduced to the technique, to the grip of the bow, and to learning the posture to adopt. I did exercises to develop my muscles, because when you’ve never practiced this sport, you discover that you can hurt yourself in completely unsuspected places! It’s very beautiful, and it seems natural but, in fact, it’s super hard! ”, She confides.
