There will be a new, Norwegian Christmas series on Netflix – now with Lars Saabye Christensen on board

Following the success of “Home for Christmas” for Netflix, director Per-Olav Sørensen will now make a new Christmas series for the streaming service – where Lars Saabye Christensen is involved in writing the script.

Lars Saabye Christensen (left), here photographed with his musical partners Maj Britt Andersen and Geir Holmsen earlier this month, will make a new series in company with Per-Olav Sørensen.

The framework for the course of action is clear, according to the press release from the streaming service:

It is December 2022 and a group of people arrive at Oslo Airport – some to welcome their loved ones, others to fly home to their families, and some are there to fly away and escape Christmas completely.

“But somehow their Christmas mission goes unnoticed. They are all stranded at the airport and the clock is ticking – it is only 24 hours until Christmas – what are they going to do? », It is further stated.

Per-Olav Sørensen is the director, and writes the script together with Lars Saabye Christensen and Jan Trygve Røyneland. Sørensen and Saabye Christensen have worked together before – with NRK’s big series «Halvbroren», based on the latter’s novel.

There will be six 35-minute episodes. The recording will start in Oslo next year, and the same Christmas the currently nameless series will be launched globally by Netflix.

– I am happy to collaborate with Netflix, and with the talented author Lars Saabye Christensen again. This story of a handful of stranded characters at an airport fascinates us, and we look forward to weaving these fates together, says Per-Olav Sørensen in a statement.
