Weather forecast: Aude on orange rain and flood alert

A Mediterranean episode giving rise to heavy rains will begin this Tuesday evening in the Aude. A situation which forced Météo France to place the French department on an orange “rain-flood” alert until Wednesday, November 24.

From 10 p.m. this Tuesday, rainy and stormy lines will come up from the Mediterranean to touch the Aude, in particular the east of the department. This situation should last at least until Wednesday, around 4 p.m., according to Meteo France.

During this time, the region was therefore placed in orange “rain-flood” vigilance by the official French meteorological service.

The affected area should concentrate a total rainfall of between 80 and 120 mm, with local peaks ranging from 120 to 150 mm from Corbières to Narbonnais, according to forecasts made by Météo France.

Four neighboring territories have been placed in yellow vigilance, namely Hérault, Ariège, Pyrénées-Orientales and Andorra.
