Hans-Jørgen Wibstad is the new CFO of Norwegian

The new CFO of the airline comes from the job as CFO of Multiconsult.

Hans-Jørgen Wibstad will take over the position of CFO at Norwegian by the summer of next year.


The case is being updated.

It comes out in one press release from Norwegian on Wednesday morning. He will start work no later than 1 June 2022.

Wibstad will take over the role from Norwegian CEO Geir Karlsen, who today has both the role of CFO and CEO. He took over as top manager position after Jacob Schram was fired this summer.

– I am very happy to have this opportunity. Norwegian is a market-leading low-cost airline with a strong brand and a loyal customer base. I look forward to using my knowledge and experience in a new industry and work closely with a solid management team when the aviation industry returns to a more normal everyday life, says Hans-Jørgen Wibstad in the report.

Norwegian CEO Geir Karlsen says he looks forward to welcoming Wibstad to the airline.

– Wibstad has extensive experience in finance and strategic management, and I am convinced that the company will benefit greatly from his solid background and experience in the time ahead, says Karlsen in the report.

Wibstad comes from the job as CFO of Multiconsult. According to the press release, he has over 20 years of experience from various CFO and leadership roles in industry, shipbuilding, shipping and offshore. Among other things, he has been CFO of the Kongsberg Group.
