From December 6 to 10, 2021, the Métropole de Lyon and LDIGITAL, in partnership with the digital players in the area (Digital League, French Tech One Lyon-Saint-Etienne) are launching the “Orientation 3.0” awareness event for college students in the territory.
At the dawn of their choice of orientation, more than 2,000 students from 3th, will, through fun workshops, discover the richness and diversity of digital professions to arouse vocations among young people and open these professions to a more female audience.
“Digital is a dynamic sector with a great diversity of professions. But it struggles to attract female talent with only 27% of the workforce in France. To change the situation, the Métropole de Lyon is mobilizing alongside digital players in the region to remove the obstacles that prevent young women from moving into these professions and skills ” highlighted Emeline Baume, vice-president of the Métropole de Lyon, delegate for the Economy, employment, Commerce, Digital and Public procurement.
In fact, with nearly 95,000 jobs in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region, digital technology is one of the so-called “under pressure” sectors in which 60% of companies fail to recruit the appropriate profiles. To face this alarming observation, the Métropole de Lyon and LDIGITAL, associated with Digital League and French Tech One Lyon-Saint-Etienne, are joining forces and their know-how by creating the “Orientation 3.0” operation.
From December 6 to 10, these actors surrounded by the Académie de Lyon and Laclasse.com (and supported by more than 100 digital school students * will visit 15 colleges and will transmit to students of 3th the desire and interest in getting involved in digital professions through participatory and interactive workshops. These workshops will culminate in the delivery of a questionnaire, followed by a guide, that college students can complete at home in order to discuss with their loved ones.
LDigital is the association that works for the promotion and place of women in digital technology. LDigital carries out digital awareness campaigns for young people, supports women in professional transition to digital professions, or promotes diversity in companies. “Dare to get started” could be the key word for a parity digital economy.
Digital League is the regional cluster that drives the digital business sector. With 500 members, it federates the sector and helps companies to develop, transform and shine. The chronic shortage of talent in digital professions encourages the cluster to increase awareness-raising actions among young people
French Tech One Lyon Saint-Etienne is the association that drives the ecosystem of startups in the territory. It helps the local ecosystem of Innovation and Entrepreneurship to grow, together, through a set of partnership actions while locally deploying national tools intended for startups.
