(Belga) About ten long-distance P trains to and from Brussels will be canceled from November 29, SNCB announced on Saturday. This decision is linked to the increase in cases of coronavirus and quarantines among company staff.
“Due to the evolution of the epidemic and the number of contaminations, SNCB is increasingly confronted with cases of illness and / or quarantine among its staff, particularly within its field activities”, explains the society. “To limit the consequences for our passengers, we have already taken a series of measures, but today we observe that these unforeseeable absences of the staff assigned to the train service induce the random elimination of several trains on a daily basis.” In order to avoid unpleasant surprises for travelers, the SNCB preferred to adapt its offer and set up a structured program for eliminating trains. Thus, the supply will be reduced until the situation allows a return to normal. (Belga)
