New Zealand: pregnant MP cycled to hospital for emergency delivery

An improbable scene. In full labor, the New Zealand MP Julie Anne Genter went, this Sunday, November 28, by bike to the hospital to give birth to a little girl.

This is not the first time that the spokesperson for the Greens for transport has made such a trip. Indeed, three years ago, when she was minister, she had already borrowed her bicycle to go to the hospital.

“I had no intention of riding a bicycle during work, but it ended up happening,” Julie Anne Genter said on her Facebook page.

The MP said she was “lucky to have had such excellent care and support from a great team”. The childbirth turned out to be him “very fast” and “fortunately simple”, she confided on her social networks.
