Covid-19. Breaches of ethics: the Order of Physicians “blames” Didier Raoult

The decision fell. The disciplinary chamber of the Order of Physicians of New Aquitaine addressed a “reprimand” to Professor Didier Raoult.

The body published this sanction, the second in importance after the simple warning, without accompanying it with the motivations of this decision against the Marseille infectious disease specialist of 69 years.

What is he reproached with Didier Raoult?

Professor Didier Raoult, soon to retire from the Institut hospitalo-universitaire Méditerranée Infection (IHU) in Marseille, was accused of breaches of the code of medical ethics, linked in particular to the promotion of hydroxychloroquine to treat Covid-19 despite the lack of effect proven even today.

Two complaints had been filed at the end of 2020 by the Order of Physicians of Bouches-du-Rhône and the National Council of the Order of Physicians (Cnom). They were based on several reports originally made by the French-language infectious pathology society (Spilf), by hospital practitioners and individuals against Didier Raoult.

The infectious disease specialist risked radiation as much as possible.
