This obligation applies to people over 11 years old, “with the exception of people moving inside vehicles, cyclists and users of two wheels” or “people practicing a sporting activity”, specified the prefecture in a press release.
The wearing of the mask concerns the streets of the capital as well as the places open to the public as well as in the airports of Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Bourget and Paris-Orly. The only exceptions are the Bois de Boulogne and the Bois de Vincennes.
The prefecture indicates that “regular and reinforced” checks will be put in place from this Friday, “in particular in dense places”. Violators risk a fine of 135 euros.
In addition to wearing a mask, the authorities announced several restrictive measures for the New Year’s Eve festivities: the closing of drinking establishments on Saturday and Sunday from 2 a.m., the ban on dancing in “all establishments receiving music. public ”as well as gatherings of people giving rise to alcohol consumption on public roads.
9,000 police and soldiers will be mobilized to ensure compliance with these rules.
Return of the mask in Val-d’Oise, Hauts-de-Seine and Val-de-Marne
In the rest of Ile-de-France, the prefectures have reimposed the obligation to wear a mask outside from Friday in all the departments of Val-d’Oise, Hauts-de-Seine and Val-de-Marne, as well as in the towns of Essonne and the town centers of the towns of Yvelines.
