The Ikea furniture store will raise prices significantly, averaging 9% globally, an Ikea Germany spokesperson said Thursday.
The decision affects all product lines and all countries, he said. The price increases will however be very different from country to country as the costs also vary widely.
The Swedish giant explains these increases by the coronavirus crisis, the impact of which is increasingly being felt. Since the start of the pandemic, Ikea has indicated that it has made sure to absorb the significant increases in costs but can no longer follow this strategy.
