The Angers club announced this Thursday, December 30 that 19 of its players had tested positive for Covid-19. Club leaders have requested a postponement of his match scheduled for January 9 against AS Saint-Etienne.

“To date, we have identified 19 positive cases in the list of 30 players filed with the LFP, of which more than 10 will not be authorized to play a match before January 10, 2022”, explained the club in a press release published on the resumption. of training.

An “explosion of cases”

Five players had initially tested positive and excluded from the meeting against Montpellier on December 22, which ended in a severe defeat (4-1).

These players had been placed in solitary confinement until December 31, but are not allowed to resume collective training until a week after that date.
