If stores are already offering promotions to their customers through “private sales”, the winter sales will officially begin on Wednesday January 12 in France.
Thus, on January 12, from 8 am, stores will offer preferential offers to their customers, for four weeks, until Tuesday, February 8 in the evening.
Like every year, the date of the winter sales is fixed in the same way. They start on the second Wednesday in January, or the first, if the second falls after the 12th of the month.
Note that the start date of the sales is advanced in some departments.
In fact, in Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, Moselle and in the Vosges, sales have been brought forward by one week. They will take place from Monday January 3 to Sunday January 30.
Last year, the sales were postponed, due to the health crisis and its consequences on the economy.
They had even been extended by two weeks, in order to compensate for the effects of the 6 p.m. curfew.
