Burkina: dozens of “terrorists neutralized” in six days

A previous official report communicated on Sunday reported 11 soldiers wounded and 29 terrorists killed during this attack. On December 30, “about twenty terrorists” were “neutralized in the locality of Yattakou” in the Sahel region, “following an offensive action carried out by military units”. In addition, according to the army, on December 28, “a coordinated action” between the Burkinabè army and the air forces of the French operation Barkhane, made it possible to intercept a column of terrorists in the area of ​​Diguel, still in the Sahel region. “About twenty terrorists have been neutralized. Weapons, rolling stock and means of communication have also been destroyed,” according to the army. Burkina Faso has been facing regular and deadly jihadist attacks since 2015, in particular in the northern and eastern regions, close to Mali and Niger, countries also confronted with operations by armed jihadist groups.
