Detox: Here are the 10 foods to consume to cleanse your liver

Ice creams, pastries, alcohol … A diet too rich in sugars and fats which often causes pain in the liver. Here are the ten foods to consume on a daily basis to cleanse this vital organ and gain energy.

Garlic

While it is good for the heart (but causes bad breath), it also helps flush all toxins from the body. Garlic, which can be eaten raw, is rich in selenium and allicin.

Avocado

In recent years, avocado toast has been popular in all healthy vegetarian canteens, and that’s good. Avocado is indeed rich in fatty acids, which regenerate the liver after overly generous or watered aperitifs.

Green tea

To “cleanse” the liver, it is recommended to drink one to three cups of green tea while avoiding overconsumption which would be harmful for the body. This drink has draining properties which makes it a perfect ally as part of a detox cure.

The lemon

Many nutritionists recommend consuming it in the morning, on an empty stomach as soon as you get out of bed, in the form of juice, diluted or not in a little lukewarm water. Lemon helps in the production of bile which helps to clean the liver.

Nuts

Glutathione and omega-3 fatty acids are found in this nut. That is why all those who suffer from liver problems and have transit problems are encouraged to eat a handful of them each day. Nuts help to partially eliminate ammonia, which is often the cause of certain diseases.

Turmeric

This spice, very present in Indian gastronomy, treats liver disorders and has detoxifying properties thanks in particular to the presence of curcumin, a powerful antioxidant. A few grams sprinkled on dishes help protect this precious organ.

Black radish

Originally from Asia, this black root with thick white flesh facilitates digestion and can be enjoyed in salads or in juice. It increases the action of liver enzymes.

Grapefruit

Like many citrus fruits, grapefruit, rich in vitamin C, is beneficial for the proper functioning of the body and our organs. It is recommended as part of a diet because it promotes the elimination of fat and purifies the liver.

Spinach

Popeye is crazy about it, the children much less. However, spinach, which contains antioxidants, preserves the liver. For best results, eat them cooked or sprouted with broccoli and sprinkled with a little rosemary. The ideal combo to boost the body.

Beet

The presence of betacyanin gives this food its purplish pink color. A glass of beet juice for a fortnight improves blood circulation and eliminates toxins. It can also be eaten raw (in pieces or grated) with, for example, apples, or cooked as a mash.
