He traded in his car for an Alpine from the gendarmerie. While waiting for the resumption of the 2022 Formula 1 season, Esteban Ocon, driver of the French team, offered himself some acrobatics at the wheel of an A110 intended for the gendarmerie.
“They gave me the title of chief driver”, had fun on his Twitter account the Habs, winner on August 1 of the first Grand Prix of his career in Hungary. On a slightly damp surface, in a police station parking lot, the 25-year-old young man showed off his piloting skills by making a few “donuts” (skids in the shape of a circle) while controlling them.

Faced with the many reactions aroused by the video, posted on social networks, Esteban Ocon made it clear that it was “a promotional shoot organized by Alpine”. Accompanied by his boss Laurent Rossi, he indeed delivered the very first copy of the 26 “cars” ordered by the national gendarmerie.
After reading a few tweets, I would like to clarify that I was driving the A110 Gendarmerie for a promotional shoot organized by Alpine. https://t.co/YIMCGdTx3o

These Alpines are intended for rapid interventions on the motorway, “involving high-speed infringing cars, as part of road safety or judicial police missions (drug trafficking for example)”, the ministry indicated last October.
They will replace the Renault Mégane RS which have been used by the gendarmerie since 2011 and should be delivered during the 1is quarter of 2022.
Esteban Ocon and Alpine will start the new F1 season next March at the Bahrain Grand Prix on the Sakhir track.
