Rapper Kalash tried for hit and run, contempt and rebellion

The trial of rapper Kalash, tried for hit and run, contempt and rebellion, opens this Monday, January 3 at the Paris Judicial Tribunal.

On the night of March 16 to 17, 2019, Kevin Valleray, alias Kalash, was arrested by a police patrol after having run into several cars on the Champs-Elysées.

The rapper had been invited on the stage of the Accor Arena by the rapper Drake a few hours before.

The muscular arrest of the artist was even filmed and shared on social networks. On some videos, it is possible to see Kalash attempting to flee before uttering insults against the police.

A trial postponed several times

The rapper’s hearing was initially scheduled for March 2021, before being postponed to June 11 of the same year.

However, the judge had decided to postpone the trial to January 3, 2022, considering that there was a lack of elements to judge the case.

For his part, the artist had lodged a complaint, denouncing “police violence” against him. He also accuses the police of having used his car while he was in police custody.
