Emmanuel Macron would come first in the first round of the presidential election ahead of one of the candidates of the trio Valérie Pécresse (LR), Marine Le Pen (RN) and Eric Zemmour (Reconquest!) Who are competing for second place, according to a Harris Interactive poll for Challenges published Wednesday. The outgoing head of state, who says he “wants” to represent himself in an interview on Tuesday evening at Le Parisien, is credited with 24% of the voting intentions in the first round, ahead of Valérie Pécresse, Marine Le Pen and Eric Zemmour, each collecting 16%.

According to another Ifop-Fiducial survey for LCI and Le Figaro, Emmanuel Macron is also given the lead at 27% (+1.5 point) in the first round, ahead of Valérie Pécresse at 16% (-2) and Marine Le Pen also at 16% (stable), while Eric Zemmour is at 13.5% (+1.5). Same trend in the poll published Tuesday by the Cluster17 institute for the weekly Marianne: with three points gained since the previous study carried out two weeks ago by this new institute, the outgoing president prances at the top of the poll with 23% of the intentions to vote.
