Christiane Taubira is a candidate for the popular primary of the left

Traveling this Sunday in Bondy, Seine-Saint-Denis, Christiane Taubira announced that she was a candidate for the popular primary of the left, for the presidential election.

The former Minister of Justice is the only candidate from the left to participate in this initiative for the moment, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Yannick Jadot and Anne Hidalgo have notably refused to take part.

She called on other left-wing candidates for the Elysee to do the same.

In Anne Hidalgo’s entourage, it is reported that the Socialist Party candidate is “the only left-wing candidate to have made a serious, concrete and transparent rally proposal.” We also castigate the choice of Christiane Taubira, who “had indicated that she would not be an additional candidate” for the presidential election.

On the left, no consensus was found between the candidates and the votes are indeed dispersed according to the polls between Anne Hidalgo, Yannick Jadot and Jean-Luc Mélenchon. The latter being the only one to sometimes exceed 10% of voting intentions.
