Tolkien, Houellebecq, Dumas, Proust… Keanu Reeves reveals his favorite authors

The Canadian actor, currently starring in “Matrix Resurrections”, has unveiled his favorite works on Reddit.

If he is mainly known for his role as Neo in The Matrix, Keanu Reeves doesn’t only read fantasy literature. Nevertheless, impossible for him not to quote the “Lord of the Rings” of JRR Tolkien, true reference of his childhood.

” Where to start ? Here are a few. In my childhood, we could start with ‘The Count of Monte Cristo’. We could start with The ‘Lord of the Rings’ ”, he confided to Reddit.

Dostoevsky, author of his adolescence

As a teenager, he immersed himself in existentialist works, and in particular explored “The Brothers Karamazov »By Fyodor Dostoevsky. This literary discovery made him love authors such as Jim Thompson et William Gibson.

Among the other works cited, we discover “In search of lost time” by Marcel Proust, “Elementary particles” by Michel Houellebecq, or the collection of poetry “The Niagara River” by Kay Ryan. A true literary soul, as eclectic as the roles he embodies in the cinema.
