Quadruple murder
Nine years ago, on September 5, 2012, three members of the al-Hilli family, who resided in the United Kingdom and were on vacation in Haute-Savoie, and a Savoyard cyclist, Sylvain Mollier, a probable collateral victim, were found dead on the edge of the commune of Chevaline.
Saad al-Hilli (the father), his 47-year-old wife and his 74-year-old mother-in-law were then found riddled with bullets in their car parked in a parking lot on a forest road. One of the daughters of the al-Hilli couple was seriously injured while the second, hidden under her mother’s legs, miraculously escaped unharmed.
Since then, the mystery remains and the investigation has stalled. Contract assassination, itinerant murderer, local killer … all avenues have been explored, without convincing success for the moment.
