More courses, better health follow-up and help from the Norwegian authorities to find biological parents are among Bufdir’s recommendations.
Three out of four adoptive parents say they have children who have had difficulties. Nevertheless, adoptive families in Norway are not entitled to their own follow-up. Many parents say they receive too little help.
This was one of the conclusions of a large national adoption study that came out last year. Almost 2,000 families participated in the National Institute of Public Health’s survey.
