It was a hot May day in 2014. I sat at the kitchen table, drank coffee and swiped through the news on the PC. In Dagens Næringsliv, I could read a full-page interview with the resigned Minister of Finance, Karl Eirik Schjøtt-Pedersen. “Joked about the dream job – now he can get it”, was the headline. He had applied for the job at Innovation Norway, a hiring process I was also in.

Former Minister of Finance? Has he applied? I read on, naturally enough with great interest.
