6:52 am: The vaccine pass adopted at second reading by the Assembly returns to the Senate
After the resounding failure on Thursday of a compromise with the Senate, the National Assembly took over the vaccine pass project. MPs unsurprisingly passed the controversial bill.
Started at 3 p.m. on Friday, the second reading of the text with the examination of nearly 450 amendments ended around 4 a.m. with adoption by 185 votes for, 69 against and 8 abstentions, in an electric atmosphere.
The Senate will examine the bill again this Saturday, then the National Assembly will have the last word probably on Sunday, for its final adoption.
Will your health pass be deactivated? check yourself
From this Saturday, all adults who have not received a booster dose of vaccine seven months after the last injection, or who have not caught Covid-19 in the meantime, will theoretically have their health pass deactivated. According to Olivier Véran, the Minister of Health, up to 700,000 people have not made their recall. Health Insurance has set up a site to check if your pass will be deactivated, MonRappelVaccinCovid.
