Fallen Prince Andrew: the decisive role of Prince William and his father with the Queen

Buckingham Palace’s decision on Thursday January 13 to demand that the Duke of York’s military titles and patronages be returned to the Queen is historic. And Prince William and Prince Charles were instrumental in the process.

According to the UK site The Mirror, the son and grandson of Elizabeth II both appeared at Windsor Castle the day before, on Wednesday January 12, to discuss the case against Prince Andrew, accused of sexual assault by the American Virginia Giuffre. And whose links with billionaire Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell – as well as his disastrous interview granted to the BBC in November 2019 to explain himself – undermine his defense strategy in the event of a trial.

The discussion would have lasted several hours, and Prince William would have done everything possible to make “the queen realize how serious Andrew’s position is”, we can read. “The Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge are in complete agreement that the Duke of York has created a complete and utter disaster,” a source close to the royal family reportedly said.

Still according to the British site The Mirror, Prince Andrew would have been “deeply shocked” by learning of this decision. It is therefore as a “private citizen” that he will defend himself in this case, in which he continues to deny all the charges against him. The Duke of York’s legal team would consider negotiating a financial agreement of several million euros in order to avoid the trial, which the representatives of Virginia Giuffre have already refused.
