After putting pressure on Hoffenheim stopper Kevin Vogt, Haaland stopped. The Norwegian went to the groin / hip, and it quickly became clear that he could not continue.

Haaland was out in several games this autumn with an injury in the hip flexor.

Whether the Norwegian will have to stand over some matches now is uncertain. Dortmund’s next match is the home match against Bayer Leverkusen in two weeks.

– The last thing Dortmund says is that it looks good, and that they hope he can be ready for the next matches, says Viaplay’s Jan Åge Fjørtoft from the inner court after the match.

Before he was replaced, Erling Braut Haaland scored the first goal of the match after five minutes. It was Haaland’s 80th goal for Dortmund, something he has managed in just 79 games. The match ended with a 3-2 victory for Dortmund.

Thus, Dortmund is now only three points behind Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga, with one game more played. On Sunday, Bayern will go to Berlin to play against Hertha Berlin.

Borussia Dortmund were looking to strike back after the German big club smoked out of the cup against the 2. Bundesliga team St. Pauli on Tuesday.

Erling Braut Haaland scored Dortmund’s only goal from the penalty spot, but the Hamburg team got the ball in the net twice and thus advanced to the quarterfinals.

Haaland’s penalty scoring meant that the Norwegian stood with 79 goals in 78 games for Dortmund before Saturday’s game, where he could thus register for scoring number 80 in the Dortmund jersey. It came after just five minutes of play.

After a beautiful combination play by Raphaël Guerreiro, Jude Bellingham and Donyell Malen, Haaland was given an easy task to put the ball in the open goal from three to four meters away.

– It is one of the absolute finest goals I have seen in the entire season’s Bundesliga, said Viaplay commentator Lars Tjærnås.

In Viaplay’s studio broadcast during the break, expert Rune Bratseth stood behind the words of Tjærnås, and called the scoring both a “style study” and a “class scoring”.

– It is simply beautiful, said the former national team captain.

TOOK COUNT: Erling Braut Haaland lay down in pain after landing wrong, but

A quarter of an hour into the match, Dortmund got a small scare shot when Haaland went down in the box after a duel. The Norwegian landed wrong and writhed in pain. The 21-year-old immediately reached his right knee and Dortmund’s medical team quickly came out on the field.

– It did not look pleasant, said Tjærnås.

After a medical check, however, it became clear that Haaland could continue, but the Norwegian saw Dortmund struggle for the rest of the round. The posts prevented Hoffenheim twice, Dortmund stopper Manuel Akanji prevented scoring with a saving tackle, but in overtime the goal came. Andrej Kramaric scored all four goals for Hoffenheim when they beat Dortmund 4-0 in the spring of 2020, and the wide side scored the ball in goal.

In the second half, Hoffenheim started best, but it was Dortmund who got the ball in goal. First it was Marco Reus who sent Dortmund in the lead just before the hour was played, before Hoffenheim’s David Raum sent the ball into his own goal halfway through the half.

Then Håvard Nordtveit had just come in for Hoffenheim, while Haaland had been replaced with an injury for Dortmund. A quarter of an hour before the end, Georginio Rutter reduced the lead for the home team, but the equalizer never came and thus Dortmund won.
