Jérôme Béglé’s editorial: “Security at the heart of the countryside”

In his editorial for this Monday, January 24, Jérôme Béglé, managing director of the Journal du Dimanche, returns to the issue of insecurity in France, at the heart of the debates for the presidential election.

At 10 weeks before the presidential election, the figures of insecurity come to be painfully remembered by the executive. Since the start of the five-year term, violence against people has been steadily increasing according to figures published this weekend by the Journal du Dimanche.

The French are not mistaken: here they are judging Emmanuel Macron’s record on this issue negatively. A godsend for the oppositions who are very uncomfortable with criticizing the government’s health policy but who are finding a voice to castigate the Elysée’s casualness on a concern that will soon prove decisive.
