MMA: Brazilian fighter stabbed to death in bar

The circumstances of his death remain to be clarified. MMA fighter Maiquel Falcao was stabbed to death several times early Sunday morning as he left a bar in Brazil.

The Brazilian fighter was found outside the establishment, located in the town of Pelotas, around 4 a.m., after receiving multiple stab wounds in the abdomen.

Supported by the emergency services, he was rushed to the hospital, where treatment was provided to him.

But he did not survive his injuries and died soon after at the age of 40. Broken glass was found at the scene of the crime and the investigation was entrusted to the local police, responsible for shedding light on the facts.

During his career, Maiquel Falcao totaled no less than 40 victories in 60 fights. In 2010, he had his only fight in the UFC, where he beat Gerald Harris and was forced out after being accused of punching a woman.

He then joined Bellator, including winning the middleweight title at the end of 2012. But he had to leave the organization again due to a violent fight outside a gas station.

The Brazilian fighter also went through other organizations like KSW, M-1 Global and Fight Nights Global.
