Morocco-Malawi (2-1): the Atlas Lions pass the obstacle of Malawi

Morocco qualified for the quarter-finals of CAN 2022, beating Malawi (2-1) on Tuesday evening. The Moroccans will face the winner of Ivory Coast-Egypt scheduled for Wednesday.

At the start of the game, the Atlas Lions were surprised by a missile from the Malawian Gabadinho Mhango, who came to clean the skylight, in the 7th minute of play. The Moroccans tried to come back to the score, but were deprived of the equalization by numerous saves by the goalkeeper, well helped by his uprights.

The trend is reversed just before the break with the equalizer of FC Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri, who propels the ball with his head, into the back of the net.

Hakimi again goalscorer on free kick

The side of PSG Achraf Hakimi, already author of a superb free kick against Gabon, which had allowed Morocco to take first place in group C, did it again this evening.
