Oslo’s mayor of Ullevål hospital: – The government lacks respect for local politicians

– It is unacceptable that the government will use state coercion to close Ullevål hospital. I am upset, says the mayor of Oslo.

State coercion shows a lack of respect both towards local elected representatives and towards the voters, says mayor Marianne Borgen.

Marianne Borgen (SV) has gained a brand as a gentle and sane mayor for the capital over the past six years.

But now she’s cursed. Last week, it became clear that Minister of Health Ingvild Kjerkol is prepared to use state coercion to close Ullevål hospital and build a new hospital in Gaustad.
