A man in his 20s was found with serious stab wounds at Torshov in Oslo on Saturday. Police have arrested a suspect nearby.
The police and emergency services moved to the upper parts of Grünerløkka / Torshov on Saturday morning after a severely injured person was found. The police were notified of the incident at 10.44.
It was a passer-by who spotted a man bleeding profusely from his stomach outside the entrance to a block of flats in Torshov.
– The person in question has been stabbed with a form of stabbing weapon and has been taken to Ullevål hospital with serious injuries, says operations manager Tore Solberg in the Oslo police district to NTB.
The man is in his 20s. Large police forces are on the scene, and witness interviews are being conducted
Suspect arrested nearby
At 11.20, the police report that a person has been arrested. There’s also a man in his 20s. He was arrested nearby, Solberg informs Aftenposten.
The arrest is said to have taken place on the basis of witness information and explanations from the man himself, the police say.
– We have control over a person that we suspect of this relationship. In addition, we conduct an active search and map out whether there may be more people involved, the police task leader Thomas Broberg informs after 12 o’clock.
Investigators are now investigating where the stabbing took place.
– We do not yet know if it is in an apartment or outside, but it is related to an ascent at the address, says operations manager.
– Track leads to this upswing. We are now conducting a survey and searching for a crime scene, Broberg explains on the spot.
