ESPN, Sports Illustrated and Reuters and several other media around the world announced on Saturday night that Tom Brady chooses to give up.

The official confirmation from Brady himself came on Twitter, via his own company TBSports12.

This has since been deleted.

The father, Tom Brady senior, told Kron4 News on Saturday night that the son will not give up. The father claims that it was a website that published an unconfirmed message. Then it was picked up and passed on by a number of other websites.

And then the chaos was a fact.

Tom Brady is said to have called the director of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jason Licht, and informed that he has not made any final decision, according to Bally Sports.

– This story is a guess. Tommy has not made a final decision, and those who claim otherwise are wrong, says dad Brady to NFL Network

The 44-year-old Brady played 20 seasons for the New England Patriots, before signing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020. In total, he has won seven Super Bowls.

The news of his career break has caused more people to react.

Bruce Springsteen guitarist and Lillyhammer actor Steven van Zandt writes on Twitter that he would like Brady to take one more season.

Wants to play until he is 45

– Oi! Wish Tom Brady announced that he was quitting, but at the same time takes another year to celebrate his career. All you anti-Brady idiots can find another place to be. What anyone can have against the best football player of all time is beyond my comprehension, writes van Zandt.

There has been confusion about Brady’s future in recent months. The Buccaneers had a hope of persuading Brady to take another season, but the main character himself should have been clear all along that he does not want a “coloring season”.

Brady has previously stated that he envisioned playing until he was 45 years old. The American turns 45 in August.

Cleveland Cavaliers veteran Kevin Love is among several who have hailed Brady’s career after the news broke.

– It has been a privilege to witness such greatness, Love writes on Twitter.

SERIES WINNER: Tom Brady has won more Super Bowls than anyone else.

After playing college football in Michigan, Brady was drafted No. 199 by the New England Patriots in 2000. Over the course of his career, he has taken most of the records. Among these is the record for most “touchdown passes”.

These are statistics the legend has also topped this season.

Brady has received the award as “most valuable player” three times, most recently in 2017. When he started the Super Bowl in 2020, he became the oldest of all time. He is among the favorites to win the same award this year and be considered the NFL’s best player.
