France-Denmark (35-32 ap): the Blues finish at the foot of the Euro podium

The French handball team finished fourth in Euro 2022 after their defeat against Denmark on Sunday (35-32 ap)

The Blues, who had managed to win extra time (29-29), then failed against the Danes deprived of Mikkel Hansen but led by their goalkeeper Niklas Landin and Jacob Holm.

Despite an excellent Vincent Gérard in the cages (17 saves) and the precious return of Kentin Mahé, absent for eight days due to contamination with Covid-19, the French failed to win a sixth medal in European competition.

The Blues may have thought of turning the situation around as in the last match of the main round against these same Danes. But unfortunately not. Like a year ago at the World Cup in Egypt, they finished just off the podium.
