Video: an individual interrupts the court in the middle of the Australian Open final

The Australian Open final had to be interrupted for a few minutes. At the end of the second set, between Rafael Nadal and Daniil Medvedev, an individual burst onto the Rod Laver Arena court this Sunday, before being quickly intercepted by the security service.

The moment was crucial in Melbourne. As Nadal was about to serve to avoid seeing Medvedev unbroken in the second set (5-3), a “streaker” managed to invite himself onto the court, creating a moment of panic.

But he did not have time to approach the players since he was quickly intercepted by the security service, who immediately evacuated him. Rafael Nadal and Daniil Medvedev were surrounded by other security personnel to protect them.

After a few moments of interruption, the final was able to resume and the Russian, who won the first set (6-2), managed to take the Majorcan’s service before picking up the score (5-5) and pocketing the second set in the tie-break (7-6).
