Busy weekends await motorists in February. As the 2022 winter holidays are approaching, Bison Futé has published its traffic calendar on French roads during this period, marked by the traditional ski departures.
The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region will be the most affected by traffic jams in February, according to forecasts provided by Bison Futé in its annual calendar.
From Saturday February 5, traffic will be very difficult in the direction of departures, then it will remain so on Saturday February 12 and 19, for departures as well as for arrivals in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
This same area will remain congested with difficult traffic on the departures and returns side on Saturdays February 26 and March 5. It will also be available in this region on Saturday February 5 for returns and Saturday February 25 for departures.
Ile-de-France will be placed on orange alert by Bison Futé regarding departures on Fridays February 18 and 25, while the whole territory will be, in the same direction of traffic, on Friday February 11. Finally, note that the roads of the Grand-Ouest and Nord will be marked by difficult traffic for returns on Friday 4 February.
The dates of the 2022 winter holidays according to the zones
As a reminder, zone A, comprising Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon and Poitiers, will be on vacation from Saturday February 12 to Monday February 28, according to the official public service website.
For zone B, including Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Orléans-Tour, Reims, Rennes, Rouen and Strasbourg, the holidays will take place from Saturday February 5 to Monday February 21.
Regarding zone C, including Paris, Créteil, Versailles, Montpellier, Toulouse, the holidays will take place from Saturday February 19 to Monday March 7.
