The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is far from reaching the goal of vaccinating 50 million people against Covid-19 by 2023, which worries the authorities. In the country of approximately 90 million inhabitants, only “220,000 people have been fully vaccinated, or 0.42% vaccination coverage. The Minister of Health, Jean-Jacques Mbungani Mbanda, therefore called on the population on Saturday to mobilize: “The vaccine does not kill but protects us all. Let us all mobilize to fight this pandemic in order to return to normal life”.
36.53 million French people received a booster dose
Since the start of the recall campaign, 36.53 million French people have received a booster dose. In total, 54.08 million people received at least one injection (i.e. 80.2% of the total population) and 52.89 million now have a complete vaccination schedule (78.5%).

According to the latest figures from Public Health France, the number of hospitalized patients is falling this Saturday, where there are a total of 32,867 patients diagnosed with Covid treated (-121 in 24 hours), including 3,606 (-12).
In addition, health authorities have counted 214,542 new cases, a figure down from Friday (241,049) and a decrease of 36% compared to seven days ago. As noted by Le Parisien, the incidence rate thus fell below 3,000 per 100,000 inhabitants.
