Legislative 2022: the Minister of Agriculture Marc Fesneau elected in Loir-et-Cher

After having gathered 56.47% of the votes in the second round of the legislative elections, this Sunday, June 19, the Minister of Agriculture Marc Fesneau was elected in the first constituency of Loir-et-Cher.

A victory for the government. This Sunday, June 19, Marc Fesneau won the second round of the legislative elections in the first conscription of Loir-et-Cher (Blois), where he was elected in 2017 before becoming minister (first in charge of Relations with Parliament and Citizen Participation, then now Agriculture). The Minister obtained 56.47%.

During this election, the candidate of the presidential majority (Ensemble) was ahead of Reda Belkadi, candidate of Nupes, having collected 43.53% of the votes.

During the first round of the legislative elections, the Minister of Agriculture had gathered 31.97% of the votes.

As a reminder, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne had indicated that ministers who fail to be elected deputy will have to leave the government. After this victory for Marc Fesneau, it is his deputy Mathilde Jesjonquères who will sit in the National Assembly.
