Weather: 26 departments placed on orange vigilance for storms or heat waves

This Tuesday afternoon, June 21, 26 departments (against 27 previously) remained on orange alert for the risk of thunderstorms, heat waves or both.

This Tuesday, June 21, in its 4 p.m. bulletin, Météo France placed 26 departments on orange vigilance for the risk of thunderstorms and heat waves. Among them, six departments affected by an episode of high heat (Ain, Jura, Isère, Loire, Rhône and Saône-et-Loire). “The temperatures observed are close to or exceed 30°C in the plain. We recorded 34 ° C in Lyon Bron at the start of the afternoon as well as in Mâcon”, specifies the institute of meteorology.

Orange vigilance for thunderstorms concerns 25 departments: Ain, Allier, Ariège, Aude, Aveyron, Cantal, Charente, Charente-Maritime, Creuse, Dordogne, Doubs, Haute-Garonne, Gironde, Jura, Landes, Loire, Haute- Loire, Lozère, Puy-de-Dôme, Rhône, Saône-et-Loire, Deux-Sèvres, Tarn, Vienne and Haute-Vienne. Five departments are therefore simultaneously affected by the heat wave and the risk of thunderstorms.

Around 200 firefighter interventions took place Monday evening in Gironde for material damage following major hailstorms accompanied by gusts of wind which affected in particular the agglomeration of Bordeaux and the Gironde coast, announced the departmental service of fire and rescue (Sdis).
