A draftless league would give young players something they’ve missed

Young, largely Black NBA players made history at Thursday's draft. The NBA should end the draft to liberate.

Athletes gain. All NBA college players are undrafted.

AAU, high school, and college choices are common. Peak competition and pay eliminate choice.

NBAers sacrifice. Paid play. Drafting may never end. NBA draftees dominate.

Huge drafts. Like Juneteenth, the draft frees families financially. NBA recruits hug the commissioner.

Reject it. Oscar Robertson and C. Lamont Smith evaluated the draft this week. 35-year-old Smith founded APSE.

“A draft system only benefits owners because it allows them to get labor below market cost,” he said.

Robertson argued the draft affects good basketball players.
