A lottery winner could miss out on a $1 million ticket.
Someone who purchased a $1 million lottery ticket in Minnesota may soon forfeit their gains.
On July 29, 2022, the Mega Millions ticket was purchased at Casey's General Store on University Avenue in Fridley.
Lottery winners in Minnesota have one year from the date of the drawing to receive their prize.
That particular drawing's deadline is now only 15 days away.
According to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS, that ticket was one of two for $1 million that were sold in Minnesota for that particular drawing.
The other was claimed last year after being sold at a Holiday Stationstore in Forest Lake.
For selling the tickets, each store earns a $5,000 bonus. Unless they opt to have their names and locations revealed, Minnesota's winners stay anonymous.
Meanwhile, the jackpots for Friday's Mega Millions and Saturday's Powerball drawings have also surpassed $500 million.
The Mega Millions jackpot has reached $560 million, making it the seventh-largest in the game's history.
