Nora Mørk changes club from Vipers Kristiansand to Danish Esbjerg before next season.
This is confirmed by the handball star to the Danes TV2.
– I have a need to play in another league. And then it is a good club with good ambitions, and I got an incredibly good impression of Jesper Jensen (coach) when I talked to him, says Mørk to the channel.
– I want to challenge myself by playing on a team where there are many good players, she continues.
Mørk won the Champions League, the series and the NC with the Vipers last season. She returned to Norway in 2020 after several seasons in Hungary and Romania. Next year, the trip abroad will resume.
Many Norwegian teammates
According to TV2, Mørk has signed a two-year contract with Esbjerg. There she becomes teammate with Henny Reistad, who left the Vipers in favor of the Danish club last summer.
Kristine Breistøl, Marit Malm Frafjord, Vilde Ingstad, Marit Røsberg Jacobsen and Sanna Solberg-Isaksen also play for Esbjerg. However, Frafjord is leaving after the current season.
Mørk says that she is full of ambitions ahead of the club change next summer.
– I do not come to Esbjerg just because it is nice to live in Denmark. I come because I want to get better, and I can see that Esbjerg is a good team that can challenge the best in the Champions League. I come because I want to win, says the hard-shooting full-back.
Mørk had a short period as an Aalborg player as a 16-year-old in 2007, but moved back to Oslo and played in the Norwegian league for the following nine years.
She has won the Champions League five times with three different clubs (Larvik, Györ and Vipers), and she has also won a number of league titles as well as championship medals with Norway. Dark is considered one of the world’s best players on the women’s side.
