Unusual. Disability: this bride in a wheelchair gets up on her wedding day

This young woman surprised all her guests and even her companion on her wedding day. Chelsie Hill, a 29-year-old American, has been paralyzed in her lower limbs since 2010, and usually uses a wheelchair. But for the happiest day of her life, she decided to get up and walk down the aisle to her future husband, reports Insider.

The young woman, who founded a wheelchair dance team in Los Angeles, also uses her platform of 167,000 subscribers on Instagram to highlight the issue of disability and defend the interests of wheelchair users. But, for this particular day, she wanted to create a surprise.

“I want to stress that there is nothing wrong with being in your chair. But, growing up, I always imagined myself walking down the aisle,” she explained on Instagram. “Not that my disability took anything away from me, but I just wanted to feel that way, and be able to look him eye-to-eye. It was really something important to me personally,” he said. she adds.

Her wedding dress had a removable skirt to help her transition from sitting to standing. The bride also put on her braces for her first dance with her husband, a “special” moment for the couple.
