Cyril Hanouna, the flagship host of C8, will receive the far-right polemicist Eric Zemmour, as the first guest of his new show “Face à Baba” on December 16, announced Tuesday the channel of the Canal + group, belonging to Vivendi, controlled by Vincent Bolloré.
“Cyril Hanouna will receive during a new program the personalities who are in the news of the moment (…) For this great first, the first guest will be Eric Zemmour, journalist and essayist, almost candidate for the 2022 presidential election” , writes the chain in its press release.
In this live broadcast which begins at 9 pm, the personalities received by the host will expose their “truths and their promises”.
“Everything will be scrutinized for this moment of TV which is already breaking the codes”, according to the press release.
Nicknamed “Baba”, Cyril Hanouna is the star of the C8 channel thanks to his early evening show “Touche pas à mon poste” (TPMP) which attracts an average of 1.3 million viewers every night.
Eric Zemmour, a candidate not yet declared but who is playing elbows in the polls with Marine Le Pen, was until recently the star of the early evening show “Face à l’Info” on CNews, the channel of continuous info also belonging to the Bolloré galaxy.
CNews had however asked him to leave in September, because the CSA had imposed on the media to count the speaking time of the polemicist, estimating that Zemmour was from now on “an actor of the national political debate”.
