Marseille: garbage collectors on strike again

In Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), the sidewalks are difficult to navigate and a pestilential smell hangs in the streets.

Like an air of déjà-vu, the Marseillais once again experience these inconveniences because of a new strike by garbage collectors.

And two months after a first strike of the bins, they are overflowing again.

On October 1, however, an agreement was signed between the metropolis and Force Ouvirère (FO) to end the conflict.

But the CGT, FSU and UNSA disagree with the majority union and dispute its terms.

A one-day renewable strike notice was thus filed for a period of one month from Monday, November 29 until January 1 inclusive.
