The Weeknd: all the information on the collaborations of his new album

The teasing, one minute exactly, already announced the color. The Weeknd’s new album, “Dawn FM”, coming out this Friday, offers some nice surprises. Including many collaborations, spaced over the record.

Among them, some are more unlikely than others. We find for example Jim Carrey, legendary actor. Their first meeting is not without originality: “He literally lives two houses away from mine. He has a telescope, and I have a telescope too. He asked me where I lived, what floor I occupied. I replied, suddenly we each went to our windows with our telescopes, and we saw each other, ”explained the Canadian artist to Interlude media. Several artists who have already collaborated with The Weeknd are also present: Lil Wayne, for whom the pop icon had participated in the track “I’m good”, on the rapper’s non-streamable album “Dedication 5”, or Oneohtrix Point Never, with whom he has already collaborated on the track “No Nightmares”, taken from the album “Magic Oneothrix Point Never”.

We also note the presence of Tyler The Creator, with whom the artist had said he wanted to work last summer, as well as Quincy Jones. As a reminder, The Weeknd received the Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award last September, awarded by the Black Music Action Coalition. “The Weeknd and HER (another recipient of the award) have both used their platforms to draw attention to racial and social injustice and raise awareness,” BMAC said in a statement, via Variety.

This is not the first time that thehe artist joins forces with others, whether on his personal records or those of his colleagues. In 2013, he was notably linked to the talented Sia as well as to Diplo for the title “Elastic Heart”, present on the soundtrack of the film “Hunger Games 2: The Burning”. In 2014, it was with Ariana Grande that he interpreted “Love Me Harder”. Without forgetting his two collaborations with Daft Punk: “Starboy” and “I Feel It Coming”. Finally, in 2018, the Canadian participated in the soundtrack of the film “Black Panther”, released in February 2018, alongside Kendrick Lamar. Together, they produced and performed the title “Pray for Me”.
