A retired building contractor from Holsbeek (Flemish Brabant) has been found dead on the Spanish island of Tenerife, his family announced Wednesday to VTM and Het Laatste Nieuws. The 60-year-old disappeared without a trace from a hospital in Tenerife on December 13. According to the family lawyer, the man drowned.
The body of the sexagenarian had been found the day after his disappearance but had not been identified. “Monday January 17, I went with the family to Tenerife and we met the local police”, a statement Me van de Kerkhof.
Police said on December 14 a body was found but could not be identified. The family and the lawyer were then able to identify this body as that of their loved one. The sexagenarian died of drowning and no third party was involved in his death, detailed the lawyer.
