Gaspard Ulliel dead after a skiing accident in Savoie: what we know

Actor Gaspard Ulliel died on Wednesday January 19 at the age of 37 after a skiing accident in the La Rosière area, in Savoie.

The facts occurred yesterday, Tuesday, shortly before 4 p.m. The actor, known in particular for having played the famous Yves Saint Laurent in a biopic on the couturier, would have collided with another skier, at the crossroads of two blue slopes.

According to information from Dauphine Libere, the actor was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. A lack of protection which would have caused him a serious cranial trauma, indicates for his part France Blue.

Unconscious, Gaspard Ulliel was then transported by helicopter to the Grenoble University Hospital, an hour after the collision.

An open investigation

The second skier involved did not need to be airlifted, according to a spokeswoman for the La Rosière resort. The individual would also have remained on the spot, not trying to flee.

This Wednesday, it was through a press release that the actor’s family announced that the latter had “died” of a “skiing accident”.

Psychological support has been set up for the slope service.

An investigation was opened and entrusted to the CRS Alpes, said the prosecution.
